What a journey it’s been! This year, M&P Mechanical is proud to be shortlisted for “Contractor of the Year” at the Ireland's Plumbing & Heating Magazine Awards 2025, marking our fourth and final nomination across all categories; a fitting milestone as we celebrate 14 years in business.

Founded in 2011 by Mark O'Rourke and Pauline O’Rourke, M&P Mechanical began as a small family business built on trust, hard work, and a belief that quality workmanship and care for people always come first. From those early days with just one van on the road with Mark and two apprentices, we’ve grown into a company with over 100 direct employees, over 150 subcontractors on-site daily, and a fleet of 50+ vehicles serving projects nationwide in just over 14 years.

Our success is down to our people - the dedicated teams on-site, the engineers, the office staff, and the apprentices who bring energy, pride, and professionalism to every project, along with our senior management team who mentor the next generation. Together, they’ve helped us deliver award-winning developments and maintain trusted partnerships with clients.

Today, M&P Mechanical continues to thrive under the leadership of Mark and Pauline, with their son Darren O'Rourke and daughter Niamh O'Rourke actively involved in the day-to-day running of the business, alongside Operations Director Tj Collier and Commercial Director James Linehan. Their combined experience, drive, and teamwork ensure that the family values M&P was founded on remain at the heart of everything we do.

Along the way, we’ve earned ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, Safe-T certified, grown our Servicing and Maintenance Division nationwide with a team of 15 people alone, received numerous industry awards and built a reputation for excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement. Above all, we’ve remained true to our values; teamwork, safety, and quality at every level.

Being shortlisted for Contractor of the Year is recognition of everyone who’s played a part in the M&P story, from those on the tools to those behind the scenes. It’s a reflection of 14 years of hard work, commitment, and collaboration.

From a small family start-up to a nationwide operation, we’re proud of how far we’ve come; and even more excited about what’s still ahead.
